Chapter 3.3: Rational Functions of the Form f(x) = ax+b/cx+d
a) f(x) = ax+b/cx+d
  • x-intercept : ax+ b = 0
                               ax = -b
                                 x = -b/a
  • y-intercept : b/d
  • Restriction : cx+d ≠ 0
                                          x ≠ -d/c
                                                             x = -d/c
  • Horizontal asymptote : [a+ (b/x)] / [c + (d/x) ] = 0
                                                                                                        = a/c

 ∴ (b/x) and ( d/x ) is equal to zero. This is because the x is the bigger number.
